About New Jersey: Geography

General Information About New Jersey

New Jersey's geography is a study in contrasts --both industrial and scenic. With three fifths of the state as part of the Atlantic Coastal Plain, the beautiful Delaware Water Gap flowing through the Kittatinny Mountains in NW New Jersey, and a number of lakes and forests, it's not easy to think of New Jersey as an industrial mecca. But New Jersey also offers a variety of mineral deposits (stone, sand and gravel) and serves as a major player in chemical production; food products; electronics; apparel and textiles; pottery; fine china and glass; and paper goods.
